Northern Rock, as I understand it, prior to government bail out, bankers made a balls up which is now going to cost the TAX PAYER £270 billion...............

True, and I'm suprised nobody has posted about the unionists in ni, as discussed in parliament, shaming the union jack. The same flag they so vermently hold so high.

Havent read anything about the Northern Rock fiasco recently Vamps so not sure what you mean tbh.
There was a good argument at the time for not bailing out Northern crock,but its impossible to say how different the picture would have been had it been allowed to go to the wall. In principle I would tend towards letting it collapse when it became unviable,but principles and practicality  are often uncomfortable bedfellows.
As for the "Unionists" shoot the perpetrators,just after youve shot the traitors who voted to outlaw flying the British flag on the City Hall of a British city for the first time in centuries.
Unionists have often falling into the trap of knee jerk reaction and lashing out at something/ someone  local who could be construed as a target that particular day.Their own worst enemies.Always playing into the hands of the real enemies.

Not really up on this Mike....but did not the government check all this out before bailing out. If not, they are more guilty than the bankers

they should have left that crock of s^&t bank go to the wall...always was a crap bank..99 % of savers would have been covered under the goverment scheme,would have cost us either way but a whole lot less
