I had a Lancia Gamma soft top, yobs just cut through the material, opened the bonnet, stole everything they wanted, lovely alloy wheels, the twin carbs, the air-horns, starter motor, seats dash board and gauges and a few other bits and pieces, then the b**tards trashed / slashed what ever was left, plod reckoned it was stripped to order, fair enough but to trash the rest of was sickening,
One of the best / fastest motors I ever had.. :-X :-X

I  believe  that to qualify for the historic class and therefore tax exemption the criteria is that the vehicle in question must have been built[but not necessarilly registered]on or before December 31st 1972.

I've read the first few posts here and reference historic and soft top crossed with the British summer, get a classic car with a vinyl roof, looks like a soft top, cheaper to insure and with the weather, it wouldn't need to go down anyway :-p

Psht, it's roof-down weather year round in the UK! In fact, today is a beautiful roof down day.. (if I had any brakes on the soft top, anyway, boo!) ;)

And i was led to believe that all 4x4s were £400 plus for road tax , that has seriously opened up the buying market for me  :o
