Soft Top
« on: 15 December 2012, 21:18:11 »

Does anyone know if we get charged more for a soft top car for insurance purposes ? ie : an escort tin top versus an escort soft top ? I would of thought it would be more for the soft top as its easier to break into plus the cost of replacement hoods when they get torn  ???

I suppose if the soft top was garaged it would make a difference to the insurance rather than just parked out on the street over night ..

any vehicle registered before march 1973 counts mate.If you look on logbook where it says Tax class- it should state Historic-hope that helps.

I  believe  that to qualify for the historic class and therefore tax exemption the criteria is that the vehicle in question must have been built[but not necessarilly registered]on or before December 31st 1972.
