Excellent video's, but as proved in the past with james and his range rover, unless you have the right tyres on a car it does not stand a chance in the snow.

The Audi was awasome and sure footed, but I have driven in snow not quite as deep and tested the car by reversing into deep snow drifts to see how it would pull out.  The car was a 3 door viva I bought back in the 80's as a work runabout, When the weather got bad I fitted 4 Colway remould M?S town and country knobblies on 3 series beemer steel rims, the only disapointment was when the snow melted, so I had to play in the mud instead.  fantastic fun even with only 1256cc, never got stuck a single time in the snow.

Impressed with the subaru on the ice/hill.  :y :y

By far the worst car I've owned when it snowed were a Volvo 144 saloon and a Volvo 245 estate. The best car I've had for snow was a Hillman Imp van!The Jaguar I have now is huge fun on the white stuff, just got to watch for that tail sliding out!

Iirc there were different specs/options.Most were twin turbo though afaik.

As for the quattro, many early ones were written off due to the fact that they had great 4wd grip but didnt have ABS,so when it came to trying to stop them them from high speed in snow/ice etc. they were no different to any other car at the time.
