We've got an 08 Mondeo with the 140 TDCi engine and it's a pretty good car. It's the same floorpan and mechanicals as the Galaxy.

Our Mondeo has 91k miles on it and since new apart from servicing consumables it has needed:

2 bulbs
2 rear suspension bushes
air conditioning condensor

That's it! Quite a lot better than my Omega or my BMW.

It's also surprisingly rapid, faster than my 2.5V6 Omega. Which is odd because the Omega was 168bhp and running extremely well. The Mondeo might have been chipped, or just be a really good one, because it's certainly faster than other 140bhp and 130bhp cars I've had.

So I'd strongly recommend looking at a few and taking a test drive.

Assuming your Mig is Auto and your Mondeo is Manual, I would expect your Omega to leave the Mondeo for dead from 20-100MPH.  :o

The 0-20 or even 0-40 time would be a different story.

Well. What can I say. I pulled a fast one on the missus yesterday. Friday we went out and drove a couple of S max's one being a 163 bhp and the other being a 140. Couldn't tell the difference. However when we tried to put a deal together it couldn't be done. i made the mistake of going to daft car supermarket place. Because I wouldn't fall for the " what's the most you can afford each month" and "use our finnace it's only ten gerzillion percent APR" I ended up walking out after 3 hours of total bollix. Yesterday I said to the wife I'm just going out to see friends for a few hours. Took a trip to a local (ish) Ford main agent. Didn't expect to do a deal but they were excellent. Deal was hatched in double quick time and then they dropped everything and got the car ready there and then so i didn't have to drive back there after Xmas as it was about an hour away. So I drove it home. It was fab so much nicer to drive than the Alhambra. Only done 19k miles so was like new to drive. I just parked it on the driveway and didn't say a word. Should of seen SWMBO face when she noticed.  ;D ;D
