The Christmas day showing of Downton Abbey will feature my big mate Rab and 2 of his vintage cars. THe cars are both renaults from 1911 and 1912. He will be in the show "starring" as the chauffeur.
Apparently the cars are shown on clips advertising the show on tv now although I haven't managed to catch them yet.
The big bugger kept it quiet, filming was in August.
He collects and restores old vintage cars, lost count of how many he's had over the years. He also collects " famous" cars and bikes, currently has the spice girls stretch mini and the police bike from heartbeat in his garage.

Foreign cars at Downton!!

That is just not done old man!  British, only British should grace those hallowed grounds.

Rolls, Bentley, but Renault??!!  This country is going to pot!

They did ask him if he owned a rolls, but the one they wanted he doesn't have, mainly because it would cost aroun a quarter million to buy

One of these 1912 Silver Ghosts would really fit in and be a proper car for Downton, although a bit old by the 1920's:



..........so perhaps this 1920 Silver Ghost Hooper Tourer would meet Lord and Lady Grantham's requirements:

Prefer to be riding a Horse outside Highclere myself (especially if the good lady Mary would care to join me!), far more inkeeping with the surroundings than any car!
