2.5 Exhaust
« on: 21 December 2012, 11:52:33 »

Hi, I need a new exhaust centre section for my 2001 2.5 petrol estate. Local exhaust place tells me it must be 2.6 litre. Is there a difference? and where will I find best deal, being Christmas (groan) and now unemployed (wonderful timing!!!!!) Happy Christmas!!!!

Have your local exhaust people looked at the badge on the back  ::)

Go to Eternal, £120 cat back delivered. Find someone other than garage you went to for fitting, or DIY  :y

Are saloon/estate centre boxes the same ? If so I have a pair of centre boxes you could have for a drink,if funds are tight. :y
You would need to come to north essex to collect them though.

Thought saloon and estate exhausts are different? The back box sits further over to the left on an estate so the mid pipes are at a different angle.

Centre boxes on 2.5/3.0 saloon/estate are the same,
 rear boxes are different.

All non cat parts (both mids and back) are different between saloon and estate.

But all V6 saloons use same mids, and all V6 estates use same mids (but different to saloon). Tail sections vary between saloon and estate, AND between PFL and FL.

There is no differnece between 2.5 and 2.6 parts.

And another vote for Eternal here, around £100 delivered for all 3 pieces. Don't bother with their fitting kit, its poor. Buy the clamps and bolts locally.

I've tried them, the build is not as good as Eternal. One centre section arrived with the bend in the wrong place, to be fair they replaced it without question, once I showed them photos of old vs new.

Many thanks for all help; think I will go with new eternal bits (rest of exhaust looks good). My next door neighbour also owns a scrapyard with a V6 in it, apparently, so will also try him. If anyone wants any bits please pm me. Martyn
