Glad i lease this Trafic
« on: 23 December 2012, 20:50:16 »

It went in for a service at 100k (not 2 yrs old yet)

Since then i have done in a couple of weeks another 3k.....but the gearbox has been whining in 5th and 6th gear at about 50+ mph since the service

So i took it back in, mentioned the whining gearbox.....thinking they might want to check the oil level of it or even change the oil.....

Got told.....nothing you can do with the gearbox, until it goes wrong  ???

Still, its not mine.....

Plagued with box issues those vans, I had a 54 plate that used to chatter at 70k miles, then a 57 plate more recently, that was whining at 64k miles. A friend has one who had 3 gearboxes in one.

French shite. Never buy French. Amazing following from French people though, no French members here that I've seen.

If it's any consolation, it took Seat two goes to diagnose a faulty slave cylinder >:(

That and leaving bits of the pedal assembly in the footwell along with not refitting the cap to the fluid reservoir cots them a free cambelt change ::)

Its difficult to comprehend how a clutch pedal hitting the floor can be diagnosed as the clutch itself

It can if its a tdi disco. The pivot pin pings through the actuating fork and the pedal is on the floor as a result.
