Usual Xmas repeated tv rubbish
« on: 28 December 2012, 15:07:21 »

 ???
Why oh why has this been yet another year where we have had to suffer the same old (REALLY OLD) brought out of the dusty tv archives so called entertainment and films? If there was any justice the whole archive would burn down so they would have to use newer materials.
Jasus....I am a pensioner but some (lots) of the films on offer were older than me >:( and its a wonder they have not worn the pics off them.
Do the producers not have any common sense opr campassion.....or is it that they know full well that most will probably just doze off so soporific is their programme of so called entertainment? Weird it was that the BBc had some decent offerings but Freeview was as dead as a DoDo with and overloaded by adverts that out of an hours telly had a probable advert timespan of 20 minutes.
Comes February I am definitely going back to Sky and putting the Freeview (and the BT Vision crap) in the bin. Never have I been so disappointed with the Xmas offerings from them........ :-X you can guess the language that hides too  :y
Merry Xmas all anyway.

Why do they put the best programmes on when everyone is spending time with family and friends. The schedulers don't really think we all sit round watching TV do they :( :(

If you've not been with them for 12 months, drop me a PM. Around that time I should get another batch of 50% discount codes  :y

TV has been appalling this year. The retards assume we are all as thick as they are and want to watch C class celebs, or other mindless no-talent shows. Or knobenders/corrie/emmerdale trash.

Trouble is, not many good films on the horizon either, due to spiralling costs.

I think those film companies thinking the banning of sites like Pirate Bay and news indexers will make a difference will be bust in 2 or 3 years. They need to spend the money on production instead. Those who won't pay for films won't pay, so this has no effect on bottom line.

The music industry has started to realise this, and act. Film companies think that if a film is pirated 1000 times, thats 1000 lost sales....  ....its likely nearer none.

Higher piracy, means less revenue, which means less films. I suspect that the return of capital is higher from making trashy TV programs. So with ever increasing production costs and falling returns, we can expect even fewer films in the future, but there will be plenty more US s*it-coms, quizzes and soaps.

Personally, I gave up on TV about a year a go with very few regrets and I definitely don't miss the attempted brain washing by the left-wing spivs and luvies of the Biased Broadcasting Corporation.

I actually disagree with that. We now have a generation of people that think any digital media should be free, and a Internet savvy enough to know how to get it for free. Even if they couldn't get it for free, very few would actually buy any.

DVDs, despite being easier to copy, actually reinvigorated the home movie market, as VHS sales had fallen off a cliff.  DVDs, and the excessive sharing (not copying) of them got people interested in watching films at home again.

But consumers are more savvy now, and realise that the rrp of DVDs is a bit steep...  ...and film companies trying to clamp down on grey imports is profiteering at a time that everyone is becoming more aware of rip-off-Britain.

"TV has been appalling this year"

Agreed, but it's all got pretty c**p generally, not just over Festive Season. I mean really, Eastenders at peak time, all the time, then they crow about viewing figures. Of course they will be high, there F All else on ! Or just maybe, we really are turning into a nation of half-wits.

Pink Floyd had it almost right with "Nobody Home" from The Wall . . .

"Got thirteen channels of s**t on the TV to choose from."

Almost, as its way more than 13 these days.

I need a frontal lobotomy I think.

Looks like after reading those responses that the producers have dropped a bollock big time this year....How do they expect to keep customers at the rate they are going? Is it that they just could not be bothered to arrange a decent offering because it entailed them having to do a bit of work and actually use their grey matter ::)? Sounds like that is the only reason to me.......unless they store the same old crap for use the following years offering....... :o
