The cover in the boot seems to take up a lot of room.

Has anyone repositioned the amp? Can the amp and the cover be removed from just the boot area?

I presume you know there's a sun-blind-cum-rude-message-banner-device in there as well?

I haven't, but I do remember years ago that someone, (forget from even where) that the amp was moved to the driver's side of the boot near where your jack is stowed. I agree, it does take up more space than it needs to.
