Shame really... Horse meat is rather tasty ;)

It's a bit off when people aren't expecting it though :o Although it seems the media are blowing it out of proportion ::)

Had a Horse burger in Slovenia, as LD says its good. Like beef but without any greasiness to it, I think it tasted better than beef in a burger!

I dont like the Tesco burgers, I know they are quite low in fat but they have a bit to much Shergar in them for me.

I note that all the retailers were saying that despite the news sales have remained 'stable'.

I've eaten Pferdewurst (horse meat sausage) in Germany. Nice, no problems

But I did know what I had bought and what I was eating.

Other reports have said that pork has also been found in beef products like cottage pies, curries etc, which is not nice for those who don't eat pork...  :-\

I don't think we should be at all surprised by any of this. Cheap foodstuffs have always had the dodgy stuff in them.

A student friend of mine years ago had a good maxim. "I don't eat food of indeterminate origin"

Yep.. And even if the beef burgers are actually beef, guess what bits they'll be mincing up and putting in them?

Hint: it's not the nice juicy bits of rump. ::)
