opps Him   >:( >:( >:(

We should today spare a thought for all clean atheletes who don't dope and have had success taken from them by cheaters.
Then consider all the people he went after on his crusade to prove himself inocent and the lives he ruined.

Last night he effectively sought to blame cancer for his 'win at all costs mentality'
Most shockingly he said he doped himself in order to 'compete on a level playing field', then proceeded to win Le Tour seven times on the spin (he even said he was 100% confident that he'd win it each time)
I thought he could not have sunk lower but with that explanation he did.

Think of all those riders whom 'it would have been their year' but they never enjoyed a Tour win because of him. Disgraceful isn't the word, and it makes Wiggo's achievements even more humbling

Paul kimmage was right when he wrote on his comeback, the cancer is back  :y

I'll also say this with no regrets .............. I hope his cancer returns  >:(

Now who was it on here that thought he was inocent and was been set up by jealous colleagues  ::)

Brief clip from his interview

" i believed it was a bit like saying, you have to have air in your tyres, or water in your bottle. "

A measure of the sport at the time perhaps? It's a bit like f1. If they have ground effect, you have to have ground effect. If they have a turbo, you go get one. They have a fancy front wing, so do you.

Ie, if your competitors are on drugs, you have to be too just to compete on a level field.

The sport at the time was sodden with drugs iirc. Fairly disgusting regardless.

What a disgusting thing to say that you hope his cancer returns. He's a cheat. Has he affected you personally? Enough to wish that? You might at least have had the sense not to say that on a public forum.

From the same perspective I second that - would not wish it on my worst enemy.

It does not make it right, but reading an article on the BBC website it does seem most of the competitors were on drugs during the period he had his wins.

What I wonder is just how many other athletes/sportsmen/sportswomen are doing the same sort of cheating?

The mind boggles at blood transfusions for example. He isn't the only person to have done this for sure.

I haven't seen the Armstrong confession on Oprah yet... did he admit that America didn't actually go the moon?

Apparently he did look very upset during the interview so Oprah gave him a performance enhancing hug.

Above all, no matter how bad things might get for you, just remember you have won just as many Tour De France titles as Lance!

...I'm here all week.... ;)

Agree with that and just add about the "urine transfers" I kid you not and yes it does include inserting a tube up "it"
