My lad has been ill since Friday. Cough, headache, shivers etc.. I have informed the wife that, in the male of the species, this is very serious and that she should wait on him hand and foot.
After tea tonight I started to feel a bit 'off'. I am, at present, in bed with a hot lemsip beside me. I have told the wife that, if my condition worsens during the night, she must stay home and bring me whatever I desire. If it is, indeed, man-flu, I may die and then she would have to pack up work to look after junior, should he survive.
She actually laughed and called me a wimp!!!!! Have you women no idea just how serious this can be? Anyhow, wish me luck, fellas, and I'll see you if I come out the end.

most important thing is to stop the virus invading your lungs STMO..  vix on chest (twice a day-if your kidneys work properly), real orange juice -no market stuff- and some paracetamol (if you dont have allergy) altka seltzer..
 
and if you feel your lungs getting infection, antibiotics time so need to visit a doctor I'm afraid.. valid also for your lad..

Well put Steve a good dose of pampering should do until better, and then there will need to be after care which could last for weeks even months.

If as you just start to get a sore throat you suck a zinc tablet. It stops the virus from breeding, so you immune system can tackle them before they can temporally overwhelm you defenses. It is too late by the time your throat gets very sore.

This was discovered in the early 1980's and zinc capsules / tablets for this purpose used to be available as a cold remedy, but seems to have gone out of fashion. So I just use a pure zinc tablet, they taste horrible, but they work.
