headlight levers
« on: 21 January 2013, 15:57:35 »

Hi could anyone help me out there is a lever on the inside of the headlights and according to the owners booklet it says, "righthand drive vehicles"  to move the lever upwards on the lefthand headlight, and move the lever down on the righthand headlight. My Question is which is right hand and which is lefthand, ie looking from drivers seat or looking at front of car. :-\

"hand" is always from the perspective of the driver .. so right hand is off side (UK) left hand is near side(UK)

Be careful when you move the lever .. it takes very little force and MUST be in the up/down direction only .. if you push inwards at all you'll break em .. :)

Dead easy to do .. I do it at the portside twice a year .. going to France and on the way home .. :)

Hardest part is getting the rubber cover back on ... I lost one last year .. must have "missed" when I thought it was seated properly .. :(

wait till it goes dark & shine your headlights on a garage door/wall. If set up for UK you should see a marked kick up to the left ie \____  \____ If you're driving on the wrong side of the road, the kick up is missing (to avoid dazzling Pierre  ;))

Easy to check if headlight correct
Just dive up to a wall or fence at night stopping about 2m short and look at the headlight beam pattern, if beams angles up to left then all ok if beam is straight across then adjust.

Edit:-  Must type faster  ;D ;D ;D ;D
