Just got of phone to dealer, most probable cause for leak is a bolt in seal around nose of converter which i will order on friday (payday) at a cost of £36, now just got to find time and a dry place to do the work.  ;)

And many thanks to all for you input on the matter, :y

Look carefully at shaft before fitting new seal and tightening the three "bolts" - any scoring/damage on that shaft and your new seal will leak as well ;)

Ok, changed seal in box and replaced the torque converter for a good one, refitted gearbox ad then replaced rear springs, car now drives like a champ again, many thanks to all for advice on the seal issue. :y
