i have just aquired a nokia 9500 communicator, its on Orange, but only has an unconnected sim card at the moment, the phone part of it functions as much as it can with a dodgy sim but the actual communicator bit doesnt work, only a bright white lit up screen, no icons or anything, is this due to not having a connected sim or is it goosed. any one good with phones

guessing you bought second hand maybe off ebay?? it sounds like a faulty ribbon that connects the keyboard unit to the screen

has it been dropped? also, is there any damage to the hinges on it?

no i got it from a car boot sale this morning, i like gadgets and this was a gadget fix., will place pic in a min, it looks in great condition and the hinges are intact, how do i fix the ribbon.

not sure, i've never had one that was broke, but for £13 it's bloody cheap regardless! ask your local market stall phone shop for a price!
