The importance of using vasoline.....

On the screw threads of lids on fermenting vessels......otherwise you dont get an airtight seal and force the CO2 to go through the airlock...... :y

Bet STMO gets excited reading the title.....then very disappointed after he opens it  ;D ;D

What's brewing, TD?

Got a Sarah Hughes dark ruby mild and a Rauchbier conditioning at the moment. Currently drinking a Timothy Taylor landlord clone. Down to the last 5 pints in the keg and suddenly it's gone from tasting great to fantastic. Always the way!

Oh, I don't bother with air locks. Top of my bucket wouldn't seal with a whole tub of vaseline. Are we taking wine, though?

I'd assumed pickled eggs, or pickled something anyway? :)

Working my way through the Solomon Grundy range of red's ......tho have to admit the cheapest is very drinkable.  :y Altho not as full body as i like. Also got a California one (alll grape juice) on the go  :y

Pickling eggs doesnt produce co2, well not in the production stage......it may at the consumption stage  ;D ;D :D

I did have them last year.....but no one reminded me and i forgot to produce them, i noticed the unopened jar when packing up on the sun morning  :-[
