Never again curse your Omega when compared to a Renault
« on: 06 February 2013, 20:50:46 »

Hahahahaha  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Was in stitches laughing with my mate this evening. He came over to se if I could change his drivers' side indicator bulb on his newly purchased 2003 Renault Megane (the one with the funky bottom).

I don't know why, but something in my mind told me to check the procedure on Google.... and I'm glad I did.

Wheel off. Cap in wheel arch lining off. Reach in and bending your hand (which is made of pipe cleaners) in 5 different positions twist the plastic tab 90 degrees. This tab is set in concrete just to make the job a bit easier

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well got a bit further and pulled the whole bottom of the wheel arch liner out but still this tab wouldn't budge.

After another quick Google search it seems that Renault drop the whole bumper to do it  ;D ;D ;D ;D

A couple of years ago I'd have got wound up, smashed the car with my hammer and had a right tizzy. These days though I'm a lot more patient and we just had a good laugh about it.

Now to see about getting the bumper off......  ;D ;D ;D ;D

On the pug there is a hatch you pull down in the wheel arch liner , its awkward but do-able with inflicted scratches to hand  :(

Halfords have various get out clauses ........ The charge around £6 to change a car battery. I asked about if I wanted my R Class's battery changed, she had a look in her book & then said that they wouldn't do it. (NB it lives under the driver's seat  ::))

Yup. Heard same story about 3 jobs ago, my old boss had to go through same thing. It was brand new at the time, local garages would not touch it. Dealer only  ???
