First there was the pre-nup, now there's the 'no-nup'...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/sex/relationship-advice-and-romance/9865200/Treat-your-lover-to-a-romantic-no-nup.html

So, what say you, OOF? At work I'm surrounded by people who think it's perfectly reasonable, nay, that it's the only sensible course of action to spend £3000 per person on solicitors fees before ever moving in together to have a 'no-nup' agreement drawn up that legalises the division of assets in the case of a split..

Me, I think that's probably everything that's wrong with the world summed up in one sentence!

That's not living together, it's a business agreement.

Hmmm, unromantic, cold, and formal yes of course. But . . . .

Shite happens, and things can get very sticky particularly if there is property involved and the relationship was quite long. I think I would consider it if I was in that position, Oh and if I was young again !  ;D

If there's property involved and so on I can see it, but folks (at least the ones I talk to) make it sound like they'd do it before ever entertaining the idea of moving in with someone.. which to me sounds most odd indeed.

To me pre-nups etc.,say you're admitting defeat before you've even started. So why bother to start in the first place?

Personally, I think it is up to the couple. A pre-nup can certainly make for a much cleaner break and solicitors will hate losing all those fees.

Property, pets, child access etc are all important and if it is a messy separation, then a no-nup or pre-nup can make life a whole lot easier.

Quite agree, how can a relationship develop and survive when you are planning it's failure before you start.... ::) ::)  Swmbo and I have been together for 15 years, no need for any agreements, I pay more in, she take more out..... ::) ::) ::) :-X
