I'm no expert on what's good or not, Barry, but why go for a 7"? Not that much bigger than a mobile phone. I have a 10.1" toshiba and it feels like a completely different animal to my mobile.

We have a Nexus 7 and its great, screen is more than big enough and anything bigger would lose its portability

After much research I got one of these for my son on the basis of cost vs spec.  I have to say I've been very pleased with it.  Many cheaper tablets don't handle things like iplayer & you tube very well but this has no problems at all.

I'd buy just once, AA, so get the one you want, not some useless, under specced PoS (they are coy on spec)

For Android devices, that means Google (Nexus) or Samsung (Tab or Note)

Having now compared the Acer against the Nexus, it was a no brainer :y
