Is it wrong for me to be envisaging this instructor on the take to be originally from Africa or India? Don't know why but when these things crop up I expect it to be and am usually right :-\
     :( Sadly that's the first thing i thought, my bet is of asian origin  :(

From Poland actually ::) ::) ::) ::)

So white.  Does that make a difference?

I despair! :o :o :o :o

Sorry, re-read my post and I am going too far with that comment!! ::) ::) ::) ::)

You make no issue of colour so sorry! :-[ :-[

It is just at the moment we, and I, are very touchy as a nation about the ethnicity of crime and who / why certain groups are causing it.  I just do not want us to tip into some abyss by exaggerating any perceived problem, which our society does however have currently in spades.

No doubt some, and I, will draw conclusions from the Jury Service thread and the fact that only two of those on the jury who could not understand simple concepts of legal debate could be classed as white British!  Yes, I know we can all draw conclusions from that. ::) ::) ::) ::)

All too easy really and I find that sad and disturbing on many levels. :( :(

No Worries Lizzie, I just seem to get the sense that there is a blatant disregard for law and rules from SOME elements of the communities who have relocated the our green and plaeasant land and our lax systems allow it to be milked like a dairy cow. I have seen numerous documentaries showing immigrant staff giving out NHS numbers and National insurance cards for a wad of notes and it makes me want to scream.

I like many others are really struggling to keep bread on the table while leading a totally legit life with self respect but have had enough of others getting full entitlments and taking the p*ss.

I know our own population are at it as well but seems we have a "come and get what you can and give nothing back" mentality and everyone is far too sensetive/scared to mention it.

One thing you have to try and remember, and to keep in perspective, whether we like it or not .... in many other countries corruption, back handers, bribery etc etc is the normal, accepted way of life and it takes time to learn that we do things differently.

OK ... I accept that some folks play on this to make money, but many of those PAYING the money have been brought up expecting to HAVE to do this to get things done. .. to them it is not "wrong" it is "normal". It therefore follows that when they move "up the ladder" so to speak, they expect the same in return.

I don't like it either, but it is very difficult to stop. Hopefully cases like this one that publicise the  "wrongness" may help change things .. but it will take a long time.

Thanks omegod! :y :y

Indeed, and that particular mentality is very prevalent across the whole of our society, on  a multi level basis.  It is like a disease that is spreading across the land from the lad on the street right up to the "pillars of society"; the "great and the good".  It is depressing, and something will snap and my fear is it will be a complete knee jerk reaction that we have seen in history.  It is not pretty! :'( :'( :'(
