Hooked on You Tube
« on: 21 February 2013, 23:03:22 »

Hi all....
Do you ever get hooked on you tube and just can't breakaway. Me and swmbo both been really ill for the last fortnight, and today is the first time I can face the computer. I searched for something on You Tube, and I noticed a song by Barry Ryan....Eloise... I loved this song when it came out. From playing that (a few times) I then saw....'Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch...Legend of Xanado on the list. So it went on...Chris Norman and Smokie, Del Shannon, The Seekers....by 'eck, could Judith Durham belt one out......then Middle of the Road with the blonde bombshell lead singer with her skirt under her armpits, phew!!!! We've had some Long John Baldry,
Gary Pucket, Mama's and Papa's, Christie (Yellow River) The Springfields, Picketywitch, Julie Rogers, Eden Kane, Billy Fury, The Bee Gees........the list goes on, many names I expect most of you have never heard of. I just can't break away from memory lane...is it just me ???

I need to get out more ;D ;D ;D ...... I have just sat here engrossed for over three hours now :y

No, it is not just you terbert! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

All those songs, and many more, were from probably the greatest period of British rock, pop, and ballad songs.  That was my era, and so many records around 1968 were the best ever produced.  They filled youth clubs, disco's and many home parties.  We danced our hearts out! 8) 8) 8) :D :D :D

Wonderful songs and wonderful memories!

However, if you keep on watching these on Youtube you will go into the realm of one of my favourite songs from 1966 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D:

But if you are that keen go on to watch The Beatles, The Rolloing Stones, Cream, Led Zeppelin, The Kinks, Status Quo; oh!!  I just could go on and on! ;D ;D ;D

See....I just knew others would get hooked...its fatal. You play one track.....look down the side, see another and say..'I have not heard that for years'

It is totally infectious.......shame on me that I spent untill 1.30am this morning, fighting the removal of my headphones. Music is in my family, my heart.....been proud to be able to name most popular music by just hearing the first two or three notes. Not obscure stuff, but general chart stuff. I just wish the cr2006 would play home recorded cd's.

Let music be the food of love....forget politics, forget war, forget religion, forget Europe....get under those headphones and get lost into wonderland :y :y

Traffic....hole in my shoe....Brill.....I'm off now for more....Billy J Kramer, Joe Brown, The Hollies, Spencer Davis Group, Steve Windwood, The Fortunes......oh memories, memories

See you all at a later date :y
