Been to W.I.M. Today
« on: 08 May 2008, 20:39:09 »

Been and had the Mig set up at WIM. This afternoon.  Brand new unit all  spotlessly clean.

Met Tony and Mark had a good natter about the top notch kit that have got there. Although most of it was well over my head. :-[ :-[

Geometry was quite a way out. Tony said I would really notice the difference now. Driving back it feels like a totally different car. Handling is now much more "Taut" it's much easier to steer and does not track to one side or other like it did previously.

Really has improved the car. I am very very pleased with the outcome.

Only downside points are : 1. The steering wheel is a bit out of centre now - will call Tony and ask him if he could put this right on the 25th May Open Day :y

2. Was that had to have one new rear track adjusting arm fitted as it was totally seized up and the guys could not free it. :( :(

Tony and Mark have asked to put a reminder on here that if you are going to WIM to have a set up done , a week or so before you go keep spraying these rear track arms ( The threaded parts of course) with WD 40 or similar.

It will save you quite a bit of money if they do not have to be changed. As these are VX parts and are not available as aftermarket parts. so are quite expensive.

So totally happy with the situation and a job well done.

PS. Mig has now shut down on one pot - only running on 5- probably a plug or lead gone down  - I hope.  (Not The DIS- PACK PLEEEEEEESE! :( :( :(

Thanks for the tip.  Neither Tony or Mark mentioned this to me earlier this week as I'm due to visit on 21 May.

Does anyone have a photo of the rear track arms so I know where to spray the WD40?
