VED and duty campaign
« on: 08 May 2008, 11:10:23 »

I mentioned this yesterday and got zero response. :'( That won't stop me, though!!  ;)

With the Conservatives, the AA, the RAC and a host of charities backing this campaign, I think there is a real chance of getting the VED increases (for pre-2006 cars) scrapped.  :y

Incidentally, it is reported that yesterday in Parliament, Mr Brown conceded he did not know how much it cost to fill up a car in his Scottish constituency. No surprise there, then.  ::)

The shadow chancellor, George Osborne said: "I congratulate The Daily Telegraph on the campaign it's waging to highlight Gordon Brown's stealth tax charges on drivers.

"The tax rise on family cars like the Ford Mondeo and the Nissan Micra is the time-bomb waiting to detonate next April just before the next local elections."

I've added by 2p worth to the campaign and I would urge others to do the same.

Didn't spot the petition signup bit in the previous post, TBH, but signed up now.

Signed it and commented on the unfairness of proposed increase.  Feel a bit better now!
