Hi I turned car on and the spanner and Car orange light came on and my auto box went into safe mode I think. I left it and now light still on but auto gears fine. This is a omega 2.2 CDX 2002 model only has 46,000 on clock with fsh can anyone advise

Reason for the light is the ECU has detected a fault. To find out what that fault is you need to look in the maintenance section and look up pedal trick. Doing this will allow you to read the codes that are stored on the ECU

will not work need a code reader 

and noticed your in notts...so is mark dtm with a tech2

Hi thanks for info will take to a guy who can plug it in and clear it hopefully! And hopefully not major problem I did have AA come out but they could not clear it as had wring plug in machine???

write the codes down and post them on here and then you can hopefully find out your fault

Your best bet is to contact MarkDTM, one of the staff here who lives in nottingham .. not only does he have the right kit, a genuine tech2, but he knows how to use it, and has much experience on Omegas ... if he can't diagnose the problem .. no-one can !!!

Won't work on the 2.2 apparently .. but the answer to your question is here ..

You've asked for help/advice - advice given to contact MarkDTM - don't ignore the advice mate otherwise why bother to ask in the first place?

Pedal trick has just worked on a handful of 2.2's, so really going to need a code reader.

As suggested, if you can get it to MarksDTM, he will not only tell you the codes, but what the fault actually is. 

My money is on cam sensor

Hi again have took advise no worries looked at MarkDTM site etc will follow through to find fault ...... owe and tried Pedal Trick 2.2 but did not work ... as I/we thought shame!!

Did 2 lights - spanner and eml come on or just one? This did happen to mine a couple of times a few years ago and on restart spanner light goes out but EML stays on.

As advised by others you have a great resource near to you so try and use it but if spanner light is now off and EML light on then it can be cleared with basic code reader.
