Sorry no, Bournemouth used to be the place all the old people went to retire. Now it has the reputation of being the Ibiza of southern England !!!!!!
And all the old people have moved up the road to Christchurch.

Mike

P.S Bournemouth used to be the place to buy cars as the old dears did very little mileage and kept the cars in good condition, but not anymore.

Weymouth I would say is miles better than Bournemouth, but maybe because that is where the wife's family come from and some relatives still live there.

I suppose it is an age thing, if your young and into clubbing, go to Bournemouth. If you prefer it slightly quieter (like me) then go further west.

We used to go to Bournemouth with the kids regularly.  A lovely Town with superbly clean and large beaches!  I have stayed away there as well in the Hilton Hotel overlooking the sea, and would highly recommend it! :y :y :y

As for cars, yes there used to be a lot of low mileage, single owner since new vehicles on the market, but I believe it has changed since the big influx of young families.  It is still one of the wealthiest towns in this country, especially around the Sandibanks area. ;)

I actually live in Bournemouth and wouldn't live anywhere else. ;) A better climate than the rest of the UK and lovely beaches, puts some of the ones on the continent to shame. There are not so many old people here anymore all moved to Christchurch hence loads of nightclubs and bars which can be a bad thing. At the moment the weather here is lovely even got up to 30 degrees yesterday with a nice cool sea breeze. :)

The nice thing about any seaside town in the UK, is any road out of it, if it got that hot yesterday what was the rest of the south like, just inland a bit

Very hot i would have thought and yes sometimes the best roads are the roads out because if you go away for a wekend you avoid all the traffic coming in and vice versa on the way back home ;D
