Went to a job this afternoon, brand new Jag XF had broken down at a set of traffic lights & was causing mayhem. So I get there and sure enough brand new, still had polythene on the seats, still had foam round the doors Jaguar XF diesel with only 5 miles on the clock stranded in the middle of the lights.  :o :o :o

Salesman had just took delivery of it off the transporter literally 10 mins earlier and gone to fill it up as it was running on fumes and........................filled it with petrol  :o :o :o OUCH!!!

It was stuck in the road because it was in 'Park' being an Auto and wouldn't move as for some reason only known to Jaguar the auto box 'dial' as it is now will only rise when the engine is running & move it out of Park.

There is a fail-safe if - ahem if you do breakdown to get the gear lever (or dial as it is) moving, but the salesman didn't have a clue!!!  :D :D :D

Some faffing about later I managed to get the box out of park & get the electronic park brake off also and loaded on to a low loader, whilst the sales rep spoke to his boss (mind you the rep wasn't doin much talking  ::) ;D ;D ) think the air was blue  ::)

After he'd finished the call I was chattin to him and he said 'its not the first time I've done it either'  :o :o

Wouldn't like to be in his shoes in the AM.

Indeed... In fact, if it was one of the local dealerships down here they probably would have called us ;) ;)

Mind you, I'm sure we cover that part of the country so may still have gone to one of us :y :y
