:( i have the horrible feeling it's only a matter of time before the Falklands go to Argentina, our armed forces are now reduced to such a level another war wouldn't be fought  :(

Easy mistake to make . Like those in London thinking that nothing outside the M25 counts.

Yep those Celtic types in Britain aren't interested, and the Celtic types that aren't in  Britain, have the spirit that's far more desirable. IMO. If being British means sectarionism, I'm not interested in being British either. Tbh. :)

Fella on the telly was saying that we could repel another invasion without much ado......provided they didn't destroy the airfield. As we have no carriers, we couldn't get any aircraft there. ;D

Who need carriers when you have Type 45's down there and Subs in the area.

We are more than capable of defending the islands.

Type 45's and subs aren't very good at precision bombing or dog fights.

Type 45's are capable of carrying cruise missiles and can easily take out aircraft.......so yes they can tick those two boxes.

It's hypothetical, of course, cause they won't do it. But I reckon we'd be in the brown stuff if they did.

Besides, cruise missiles are about a million pound a pop, we can't afford it. ;D

No but their 48 air-to-air are very good shooting them down and the subs stopping the invasion fleet arriving. Type 45's are most vulnerable to our surface vessels as the MOD could not afford to fit the Harpoon anti-ship missiles they are designed to have.  :o :o :o :o

But the Argentinians have not bought any new ship or aircraft since 1982. Most of their ships and aircraft from that era are not only obsolete, but few are in an operational condition.

If they were stupid enough to try anything it would be a one sided Turkey shoot. The Typhoons and Type 45 would decimate their Airforce and the Sub and Typhoons would sink their navy. The ocean floor would look like the Kuwait City to Basra Road at the end of Gulf War 1. Then depending upon the Sub we could stick a Tomahawk cruise missile up Kirchner's chuff.  :y :y :y :y
