Yes, avoid Hancook K105's, they tramline like crazy on the front, but okay on the rear.

Elite now gone.  Bought an X-Type 4x4.  If there had been an Omega 4x4 I would have bought that instead.  We really liked the Omega, but I wanted 4x4.

Gonna get 4 nankangs put on her ZT, 225/45/18's, £70 on ebay. Might as well use those as the Bridgestones (£170) cause she rips them to shreds anyway. :o

I'm using Yoko low road noise tyres with reinforced sidewalls.

Lasting well and will set you back approx £65 each

Avoid wanli, plus points they  wear well and have reasonable grip in the dry, bad point in the wet they have less grip than an ice cube going down the cresta run!!! :o :o :o

Vauxhall put some Kleber tyres on the back of ours once. Noisy, rubbish grip and poor wear. Avoid.

i have had

Michelin primacys good grip wet not so good dry very noisy though

Nankang NS 2s cost me £110 for 2 and are the best tyres i have ever had excellent grip in wet and dry and no road noise seem to be taking the miles well!

Avoid KUMHO tyres absolute CRAP rubbish in wet and crap wear is fairly good though

I'm after a set of tyres myself, been checking out tyre-shopper.co.uk. its a good site for info. Just type in your size and it will recommend various makes with all the pro's and cons (wet, dry, noise and mileage)
Think i'm going for the Avon ZV5's. its a brand new design (april 08), heard some good reports about it and not too expensive for my size (225/55/16) 88 pounds a corner all in.

I have the Avon ZV'3 all round on mine and whilst I am happy with them I dont think I would go for them again.

A few tyre suppliers have stopped stocking them due to manufacturing quality of the tyres.

My last tyre I had fitted because of a puncture I had fiited on the rear N/S ( Normally I have them fitted in pairs and generally put the worn ones to the front)  Any way the new tyre was pointed out to me on the MOT, it wasnt deformed or damaged as such but the rubber on the inside nearest the rim was peeling and cracking.

Took it back to the tyre fitters, they ordered me a replacement and were told to take a deposit off me for the wear on the tyre compensation.

Sorry but that put me off them, 80 miles on a tyre that was 2 weeks old and the problem was nothing to do with the driving or the car geometry.

Message was sent back via me to Avon not to bother with a replacment as I thought Watchdog might be interested.

Tyre was replaced 2 days lter no questions asked and no charge for refitting or balancing.

The supplier then mentioned a brand (cant rember exactly ) similar to Khumo, they were mentioned in another thread a couple of weeks ago.

Just re read the thread, that puts them out of the window then.
