No but I do want to go to the Falklands (Brise Norton via Ascension). A land mass the size of Wales, millions of sheep and only 2500 people.

Amazing place, especially in Spring/Autumn, not so nice in the winter !!  Even in the summer you can see all 4 seasons in less than an hour. Wildlife is amazing, truly wonderful vistas, very friendly people, and bombing about in a very old landy is just simply great fun. Visiting the more outlying places is a tad more difficult, but well worth the effort... I was lucky ... with good contacts in the RW and SAR sections we got "dropped off" for the day on several so called "training runs", that just had to be repeated some 6-8 hours later ....  luckily for us  :) :) :)

Loved the place  :y :y :y

a mate of mine was an RSM during the Falklands War and has just been on one of these "indulgence" flights i.e. subsidised for ex army, there is a lodge that has been built for veterans to use free of charge during their stay. Cruise ships land there almost everyday and the locals have developed a good business in taking tourists around. My mate wanted to go to Mount Tumbledown and envisaged a long walk to the top  as in 1982 - the 4 by 4 got him within 150 yards of summit. Sign of times - the airbus from Brise Norton is run by a Portuguese airline!!
