Maybe, but I understand that without an MOT you won't get insurance, company policy not legal requirement........

Originally the idea was to have a rolling 25 yr exemption ...... it was very quickly dropped by Labour when they came into power in 1997!  Hence the 1972 cut off.

I always reckon that if you can keep a car going long enough it becomes a cheap, reliable vehicle that goes on and on.

My father-in-law had a Fiesta Ghia from 1975; it was still going in 2002!  He then died and the car was sold on to a collector.

My 20 year old Toyota Carina II Estate was also another example of a car I kept going for 6 years, and it actually became cheaper and cheaper to run.  I then decided to go back to miggy ownership and I PX'd it for £375 - £75 more than I paid for it!
