Drivers Door flying open on Corners
« on: 20 March 2013, 17:30:15 »

Not one of mine but my Ex's 2.2 CDX, she tells me this happens now and then even with the door locked from the inside.

Ive had a quick look, test drived it, checked it shuts completely, pushed it, pulled it, banged it, kicked it,  asked it nicely and waved Tim the Mallet at it but still wont do it for me.

Any thoughts, or should I just change the door mech? and hope for the best!  :-\

Did think about that, briefly, then wondered if my Boys could continue to drive the Car from the Passenger or Back Seats whilst missing a Driver :D plus this is an open forum  ;)

worn or broken hinge pins in the door can allow this to happen as the door bounces, and the lock pops out,try replacing them only cost pennies

Was it cold at the time? Sometimes the mechs freeze, and don't latch fully, yet do when warmer.

Either way, replace mech.
