Discuss... with disgust  >:(

Sorry for the pun  :)

OK, so he refused to give his name and address to the Council Warden, and this is this technically an offence.... but surely the Police has better things to do than assist Council Wardens chasing alleged litterers...?

There is no Police available in my area to chase the hoodies who broke into my wife's car twice, both times in broad day light.  >:(

For any law to work it has to have the day-to-day support of we; the public....for it is the law abiding majority whose day-to-day honesty and respect for what is 'right' makes our society work.
This case reminds us that laws are made by politicians; the epitome of condescending, pious short-termists....`much easier to criminalise the basically honest than go catch 'real' criminals....'lazy laws' bring the law (in general); and those whom are tasked to enforce it, into public ridicule.
Freedom: one of the things we Britons treasure and indeed have fought to the death (on many occasions) to preserve, is being eroded on the opportune whim of morally-frail politicians....'drip-drip' each day we lose another freedom, on the excuse that we need constant 'governing' and need to be watched, nannied and be-lectured.

The sad thing is that yet again we are not getting the full story.

I would expect the offender to be asked to pick the item up and bin it plus you really dont know what sort of abuse etc followed.

So, got what he deserved I suspect.......we will probably never know!

I think if this story is true, we are missing the point. When the Police arrest a hoodie for criminal damage, the hoodie has all the rights and the Police person will receive no credit for the arrest.
Now if the law can just issue an on the spot fine for something, very little paperwork, no court involved, and if enough are issued, plenty of local income for someone.
Possibly it is another form of stealth tax.

I do not blame Police Officers for this in any way, I blam our pathetic government and local councils for this shambles.

Rant possibly over

Mike

P.S. Debs has said it far better than I can.
