I did look to see where you lived dbug....... :D :D

I have my eye on, I assume young, 'techy guy' at work who I have not met, just over the internet via the 'noticeboard' and emails, certainly seems to know his stuff, I may offer some money to sort me out........ :D :D

So you have your eye on a young guy at work who you are going to offer money too,eek :-\ :D

Well the IT Guy, from work, fixed it about 6 weeks ago and it lasted about an hour..... :( and he has had it back ever since..... :-X  I sent him a little reminder......and received the following reply this morning..............

Sorry about that have had some personal matter to sort out,  Sorry but have been unable to stop the Laptop blue screening have tried new Hard drive and also bought  hard drive to motherboard cable but neither has been able to fix it,
 
Will put the data onto a CD tonight Laptop can be picked up tomorrow night

My offer still stands Mike ;)

Difficult to advise you without diags/sight of lappy

Issues loading Windox onto a new hard drive usually memory related - memory stick may have been disturbed (unlikely but possible) or needs reseating or worst case needs replacing.
