Avoid a glossy finish IMO. Glare and dash reflection in the windscreen don't help.

Don't have time to look up product. Does the product Al suggested have a glossy finish?

Al, can I use it on doorcard plastics and dash?

Thanks  :y

I just use a diluted carpet cleaner as it good at shifting grime but does not contain silicon to give a gloss finish

Not a polish/shine product, does exactly what it says on tin. That is foaming cleaner :y

Spray on, leave a sec, then wipe off with a clean cloth. I use it on everything except glass. Surfaces dry to their natural state :y

It is essentially a 'retail' version of a commercial product, and looks like this...

I think people are confusing plastic cleaner with upholstery cleaner...

If you want a good plastics cleaner try Auto Glym Vinyl and Rubber Care - this will clean all your interior surfaces and won't leave them with the "wet look" shine that car dealers seem to love - it will even clean the grubby bits like door shuts as well as the dash (use a micro-fibre cloth though) and smells good too.  Available from Halfords for about £6.

No confusion at all. None whatsoever in fact.

I recommended the product that I have used for cleaning the complete interior of all my cars since I started driving 18 years ago.

If it were unsuitable or ineffective for the OPs needs I would not have recommended it. Simples.

I use Autoglym leather cleaner and balm for anything leather as it is the best product I have found for that, but the Ambersil Groom I metioned is the mutts for everything else. It too smells nice

Not at all, I just find that carpet cleaner foams a little and is very good and cheap (I dont buy it, er indoors does  ;D) cleaner for interior trim and plastics  :y

I use swarfega type gritty stuff as it gets the dirt out of the grained plastic a treat!

Washing up liquid does the lot. Inside, outside and I believe you can do dishes with it too. :y
