Hopefully putting in the AR35 box this w/e which I have had for at least 3 years. Then the full fat chip.

A thought occurred this AM, (I have about 1 a day). What difference will the Sport mode make when the full fat chip is fitted? :-\

If you have the latest gearbox ECU, don't need sport. Can't remember if I used sport mode much on my old tractor...  ...used to lock it in 3rd a fair bit to stop the 3rd/4th constant hunt at around 50mph.

Any from a 3.0 or 3.2 omega.

Need to reuse your current TC and bellhousing.

Ooops, I didn't realise that I needed another ECU also. Unless this is already attached to the box. Better have a look tomorrow. :-[ :-[ :-[

You have the ecu, its what software is on it.

For a TD, I'm not convinced its worth paying the prices I charge to upgrade the gearbox's firmware. The petrol ones, yes, definately. TD, not so sure.

Hard to remember now. I don't think it made a significant difference to be honest. Still hunts around gears at about 50 if on a slight uphill slope. :-\ It will be interesting to compare with the AR35 and the V5 chip. :y

I used to lock mine in 3rd if doing that 45-50mph constant speed on roads that have slopes, as the constant locking and unlocking of TC was annoying. At least if in 3rd, the TC stayed locked, which probably improved economy anyway.

I do ocsnly do that. I guess the V5 chip will not affect that annoyance. :-\

Not really, but as the boost seems to come in a bit lower, I felt the range of speeds for me having to lock in 3rd was lower once chipped.

I have finally had my ecu chipped. And I have to say it has made a massive difference my car now pulls much stronger in every gear. My turbo starts to spool around 1700rpm rather than 2400
Overtaking has become so much easier too. In short it has given me a fully drivable car again.
Beforer the re chip my trip computer was giving me readings of 20-22 round town and on a run it was 40-44. with this chip its reading 36sh round town and I averaged on a 180 mile round trip 58.6 mpg. not sure how accurate the trip is but that's a massive difference and the fuel gauge only moved 2 notches. I'm going to manually work it out next time I fill up to see if these figures are correct.
but I would recommend it to anyone.
