Lumpy drive with no acceleration
« on: 02 April 2013, 13:35:02 »

Hi,

What would cause a lumpy ride when 1st or 2nd gear is engaged with no acceleration applied?
(So basically allowing the car to coast itself along)

Misfire - check plug wells for oil or water, plug leads, diss pack.

Might be worth doing a compression test.

Cheers - I only changed the spark plugs and dis pack about 4 months ago - was second hand, so maybe faulty.
How would I perform a compression test? any guides out there? (I cant seem to find it in the maintenance section).
