Would suggest purchasing an updated copy of the legit software from the unit manufacturer.    ;)

Cannot discuss the aquisition of 'software' other than from source on open forum due to copywrite restrictions...

Moving to genchat for a wider airing.....

Look on e-bay for later maps, the software update comes with the language disc....  We're assuming that you refer to the standard fit Carin 520 unit as located in the boot of your meega?

Is this a pre-facelift or a facelift car? Is it a Carin sat-nav or a later Siemens NCDC 2013 Head Unit?

For the CARiN units, h/w 581 goes to v2.3, 582 goes to 4.9.  Alas, update disks are no longer available afaik

We hava a BMW X5 at work, with the £2000 comms option, the standard sat nav is useless, we updated it with a Tom Tom, much easier.

My brother has a gay X5 with the high end sat option.  Its pretty unimpressive.  Discovery/RR advanced satnav is much better...   ...but then the entire car is :P

Its the bosses car and its going to cost £440 to tax it next year, we have had it up for sale for weeks and not even a phone call about it. I do not like the car very much but being able to watch Sky News when you are waiting outside the chip shop is nice. Oh and it costs £118 to fill it up with derv.

Thats because anyone wanting a 4x4 will buy a proper one, so you are limiting yourself to gay beemer wannabes.....

Funny enough it was owned by a celebrity. Most of these things only mount pavements and will never be used off road, the term Chelsea Tractor is an accurate description of these and similar pointless cars. Nice comfortable seats though.
