Yup he is a good man I had some self levelling shocks from him and they were excellent and packed very very well.

I was going to but then I tried to think outside the box.... if it got hot enough would it melt my adhesive. and then get in the engine. and then go bang? so for the sake of a few bob i perferred the purchase option

Ah....you need to think a little more. 

By drilling out the end of the breather section with a drill the same diameter as the broken off plastic pipe, you can then insert said pipe snugly inside with a little glue to act as a retainer.....hence as strong as the original and more importantly, it gets you out of a hole
