Ccrt700 upgrade - different multiplug needed?
« on: 06 April 2013, 17:59:01 »

Hi there

I am upgrading the stereo on my 1999 mv6 to a ccrt700 from the ccr600.

I am not bothered about the phone part of it yet as I think it is a pro job, but I noticed the multi plug is different.

Is there a multi plug I could buy for the bit from the loom to the (3) stereo multi plugs.

Thanks in advance - although I could goth a breakers I suppose and take it off an elite etc.

Cheers  :y

Best to get a couple of TM looms, a 26way one and a 36 way one. Then make the mods needed on this home made loom adapter

Probably worth pointing out that a lot of the second hand ccrt700's out there are Bose configured. :-X

And they are pretty unreliable. And it needs a different (identically looking) CDC2 in the boot.

I bought a boot cd from the same car so I any probs with this then should be ok.

Just seems I need the different multi plug but probably not as easy as that  :-\

As said, all the changes can be made on a home made Trafficmaster loom, made up of a 26 way TM and 36 way TM loom, and moving a few wires in it. This way does not butcher the car's loom (which isn't that easy anyway, due to accessibility).

If its set for Bose, that needs to be unset.

I did this very "upgrade" to my MV6, but soon ripped it all out in favour of:

Thanks for that. The link looks good.  :y

I had the stereo unit all out to fix a bulb in the air con controls and thought I would take a look whilst it was all out.

Needless to say, I have put it all back now and will rethink my strategy .
