Ebay seller problem
« on: 09 April 2013, 09:01:29 »

Hi, I won an item on the bay yesterday that was  a absolute bargain. It was listed as collection only,so I emailed the the guy days before to ask if he would let me arrange mo own courier pick up,yes no problem.
So I bid,and I won,now ebay won't let me pay until the seller makes a "exclusion" that lets him sell it.Now I have emailed this guy about 10 times since the auction ended but he will not reply,I think that he expected to get aon't to better price, and is now backing away from the deal.
I don't won't to involve ebay disputes centre yet,as I have 100% postive feedback and he has,any ideas how to gee him up please.

Never heard of that before - (Ebay won't let you pay) - are you sure you won it and the seller didn't end the auction just before the end time?  And you will probably find that it's almost impossible to leave negative feedback these days, something I think defeats the object of feedback, check his positive feedback comments as a lot of the time sellers/buyers frustrated at only having the option of leaving positive feedback will leave negative comments.

Or he may just not be that pro-active when getting back to you as it didn't sell for what he wanted  - but that's ebay and he should have put a reserve on it.

Have had similar before...basically it's caused by ebay/paypal carrying out a check of some description.

Log into your Paypal account, and there should be a bit more info in the transaction details :y

Basically you'll need to send the money to the seller directly, rather than through ebay, or alternatively pay on collection. Can't remember if ebay lets you go far enough through the checkout process to get their address :-\

Some people are brilliant with responding to messages, others complete rubbish. I have had several transactions that I only know to have been acknowledged because the item has been delivered ::)

Check Out use to let you pay different amounts from the final listing won price, have they stopped that now?

Yup, anything 'outside the basket' and you have to request a revised total ::) regular/reliable/reputable sellers are usually on the ball, and either revise the amount in checkout or send you an invoice, marking the transaction as paid manually :y

Of course that is all completely irrelevant if the seller is incapable of completing the simple task of answering their messages ::)

Just had an episode where the seller said in the auction that 2nd class delivery was free, after saying he would send it for an extra fee I said send I would not and expected it at my house within the timelines.

He then resold it for without refunding me, initially the dispute was supporting him as he provided tracking information (for the new buyer not me) cheeky git.  So I said to him he had 24 hours to refund or send the item to me or I would be lodging a complaint with the police for obtaining goods through deception.  Ebay refunded me pretty soon after that and forgot to delete the item listing so I listed the negative feedback and bang goes his 100% score, tinker.

Thanks for the replys,The seller was quick replying to my question regarding courier,he's in Sheffield i'm in Gwent.Ebay seems to need him to send me a revised invoice, and that should be it all sorted. It seems to that he was expecting a much higher figure for the item, now he's thinks that if he ignores me that I'll go away, and he'll relist it some other time.

Name and shame  ;)

Stick his Ebay address up and the item you bought (not the price) so we can all message him with requests to send it to "the winning bidder"  ;D ;D

This type of thing is more and more common as the 100% feedback means nothing anymore, I have had countless cases of non paying bidders and ebay say a payment strike goes on their account as appose to negative feedback

Like previously mentioned its nigh on impossible to leave negative feedback now  :y

Hi,seems to been resolved now, that's all he had to do was mark the p+p as £ 00.00.That made the ebay computer say YES,so the sale could then be completed. But he was a bit longwinded in replying to my emails.

Hi all, here's a update on my latest purchase from ebay,it doe's not fit,the size that was stated is not the same as what I got.
Question now is am I intitled to a full refund plus my courier cost,as this strictly the sellers error.
