Ive seen videos of the rust being cut out and new metal welded in , sure this is the best solution if your going to keep the car and want it 100% .. seems when the paint has already lifted you will find it will always  blister and flake again after any paint repair so only solution would be to cut the metal out  :) I did a repair job on mine then just used hammerite , it lasted a year then started to come through again and that had been treated with rust cure as well  :(

No such thing as a cure for rust I'm afraid.  ::)

Is it possible to buy a rear quarter panel from a breakers, are they easy to take off or do they need to be cut off and what sort of cost would one be? If they are easy removed I'd probably just go down that road tbh if I can find one that's in good nick as I don't want to be fixing this every year and that's the only place on the motor that has any rust at all. Was hoping I would be able to fix some of this myself but I have absolutely no experience with this kind of thing so looks like I'll have to get the piggy bank out  :'(  :'(

Replacing the entire rear panel, although possible, would be a very difficult job.

Get a couple of quotes from Bodyshops to cut a section from another panel and weld it into your car.

It won't be cheap though, and if it is cheap, ask yourself why!

I've always used the same body shop before so i'll be using him again regardless and I'll basically leave it up to him how he decides to fix it, but I know he wont screw me on the price or the work he does, its just getting the pennies gathered up to get it done now. I did ask him about fixing it before and I think he said between £2-300 but it was a while ago now. Just spoils the look of the motor and I hate seeing it especially on the drivers side as I always see it, if it was on other side it wouldn't be as noticeable to me  ::)
