Nice mig in the scrappy
« on: 13 April 2013, 12:43:08 »

Just spotted a really clean gold 53 reg 2.6 CDX with 105k on it, reportedly brought in with a misfire but on closer inspection looks to have oil pissing out of the back of the engine which looks to be more than the rocker covers it obviously needs, they want £350 for it..Hmmmmm  it does look minty nice :-\

Any thoughts on what the leak may be?

I have never seen a rocker cover cause the oil to drip out the back at this rate , literally dripping like a tap

Thing is, apart from the oil cooler pipes, as already suggested, there's very little else it could be. Given the misfire too, I'd say cam cover gaskets.

Can't see it being anything major.

No chance of it being a crank seal?

Ask them to reduce the price and then buy a barrel, key, chip, pick up and ECU off a breaker ;)
