I may well go into a bit of leather refurbishment.
« on: 21 April 2013, 09:57:20 »

Seeing as I tend to get cars occasionally with slightly poor leather seats, I decided it'd be a good idea to cost cut, and try doing the leather repairs myself. Watched various tutorials and videos on how stuff is done, got all the correct paint, sand papers, grain copier sets, everything you need basically. Got a 330i in at the minute which had a poor drivers seat, due to 120k's worth of people scuffing up the bolster basically, anyway prep it, mask it this is how they looked:

Before:

After:

Brand new looks, happy days, could well get into a bit of this, I enjoy it a lot too :).

That looks great Del!  :y  Do you know how long the paint finish is supposed to last? Will it rub off quickly?  :-\

Presumably you could do leather sofas as well? That could be a nice little earner!  ;)

Done properly it can last for years really, all the leather in cars is painted anyway, doesn't feel any different what so ever. Leather sofas use the same principle I believe  :y.
