I'm sure there are lot of people by whom it'll be liked as the gastronomy not about healthy foods and wellness.  :)

I've been eating nearly raw beef for over 10 years and drinking a fair amount too.  My abdomen is scanned every year and there is no liver damage.

I dont see how eating raw or nearly raw meat causes cancer, overcooked (burnt) meet surely poses a risk due to the formation of carcinogens in the proteins.  As long as you burn off the calories, a moderate consumption can be tolerated by the body.

France eat a lot of nearly raw red meat, drink a lot and smoke a lot but have better health than most of the world.

Non, une bouteille par personne  :y

That's more like it   ;D  ;D    ;D

Speaking of which, off on one of our regular cross channel booze cruises this weekend. I need to stock up up bit !  :y I know the wine snobs will disagree, but it is possible to get a very drinkable bottle for around £2 in Calais  :y.

( Sorry CEM, I know that you disapprove of this  :-\ )

Our local CoOp was selling a Pinot Gregio for £3 a bottle and very nice it was too, they also did a red at the same price again a nice wine. Some French Country wines are excellent you don't have to pay a fortune to enjoy a nice wine :y

Sounds like an absolutely perfect meal to me..

As a mate of mine used to say when asked how he'd like his meat done:

"Wipe its' arse and walk it through the kitchen." :y

As said, I'd be far more worried about overcooked meat, and as for avoiding alcohol.... ;D

Absolutely ! Another favourite.

BUT . . . I buy it in 3 litre boxes in Auchan. Usually around €10 a box, but sometimes on special offer. Lets have a contest . . . . who finds the best gluggable wine deal in France  :y But we'll need an en-masse glugging to decide  ;D   ;D

red meat alone is dangerous either cooked or raw..  best method is boiling but no one likes it including me..

however, if you look at the herbivores and carnivores avg life times, you will understand why red meat will kill you quickly.. :-\

as for alcohol , I also like it especially rakı (locak drink 40-45 degrees) and scotch whisky..

but after some serious events I decided that it doesnt help my health so I consume them very rarely and not more than a glass..sometimes I want more but no way.. :(

also I discovered that some countries citizens are more resistent to alcohol.. however, it doesnt guarantee that you wont be caught by cirrhosis.. it only depends on the rate you drink.. please keep in mind liver cells are finite.. and their renewal rate quckly drops with age.. :-\

so please be careful what you consume..  :y

mmm plants live a year and die, fish about 5 years, poultry about 3 years ..

so going by your theory we have to eat elephants and tortoises in order to have a long life .. :)

I think not .. :)

and I've managed 62 years on un(der)cooked red meat .. :)
