Trying to get the radio to acknowledge to enter the code on the vectra , all its doing is displaying 7 safe  ive done everything by the book but it wont let me enter code yet

Try pressing and holding the auto store button,be careful though as 7 attempts have been used up and I think the set locks at 10

Turn unit off
Press AS and hold whilst turning unit on
Release AS
Press button 1/2/3/4 as many times as needed to enter code
When code correct, press AS again, hold until beep is heard.

Yes i did that henry but no go  I know i had no problem doing my last vectra but cant get this one to beep

Is it possible the radio has been changed from original and the code is now different ?? or its a different model and the procedure is different ??

I'd give DaveDND a shout and ask for advice before trying again .. the risk of bricking it is getting higher !!

It says in the book when you hold in the AS button while turning on it should beep then enter code ...no beep

No , it wont let me .. it just displays 7 safe

are you now in the "time delay" period ?? where you have to leave the ignition on for x minutes before another attempt is allowed ??

Hmm seems i am entwood , apparently i should go for a long drive with the radio switched on then the safe 7 mite disappear then i mite be able to enter code

Just had confirmation from dave DND . 7 SAFE means i need to go for a long drive as its timed out
