2nd call out?
« on: 09 May 2013, 19:45:45 »

A friend of ours recently broke down in her 3.0v6,as her insurance cover provides for breakdown/recovery she phoned the company concerned. She told them where she was,the name of the road-a busy main road-the make, model, reg.number and colour of the car,she was told someone would be with her within the hour.A while later a breakdown truck went past,so she phoned up and informed the company of this, only to be told that it was probably on it's way to another job, fair enough.Ashort while after the truck went passed the other way, again a short while after this-past the hour in which they'd said they'd be there-she phoned again, only to be told that their driver couldn't find her,but they'd send out another truck but she'd have to produce either a credit or debit card as there would now be a charge due to this being a 2nd callout!!What??!!! Anyway they recovered her car-it was the crank sensor-and she is now in dicussion/argument with her insurers/the breakdown company to get her money back.It should hopefully all be resolved in her favour soon.It is a very well known insurance company and she has all her five cars insured with them,so I suppose she's always got the threat of taking her business elsewhere!

Politely worded e-mither to the managing director I'd have thought.
