Roots / Stumps - How to kill them off

Been clearing some bushes, shrubs small trees etc from the garden; I intend to cut down to ground level but will be unable to remove them, what is the best think to kill them off?......  :) :)

nearest to the root you can get it as weed killer will kill any plant not just weeds

i was told engine oil as previous drill out pour in or is somone making me look a willie :o ::) ;D ;D

Paul,engine oil or diesel would do the job BUT it is not very eco friendly is it????

Tea or coffee from the Jungle Cafe at West Malling !    That will probably kill most living things  ;D ;D ;D

You could always hire a tree stump grinder. :y

Failing that drill into the stump and fill with diesel as already stated

Simplest method i know is cut trunk level with ground and cut a cross into the top surface of the stump, about an inch (2.5cm) deep.
It will not regrow and will die and slowwlly rot away naturally

As said drill hole and fill with either old engine oil or old type creosote :y

What was that Mr Lovejoy said about putting his willie in ::) - don't think that'll work ::) ::), but my advice is to kick it first before "inserting" willie to make sure all spiders etc have vacated the hole ;) ;)
