Why not sort out the problem?  Forgive me for saying but why buy a V6 3.2 engined car if your after MPG? :)
ok here we go, got the car really cheap, petrol wsnt that expensive at the time, engines are fairly cheap to replace at the moment

as the topic suggessts, im looking at a engine transplant, ive a 02 omega, 3.2 v6, its letting in water in the rocker cover gaskey, think im down to 4 cylinders too, i was thinking of putting a smaller engine in, was wondering what fits, the car is a work horse so i want to have a bit of torque without the hugh fuel consumption!
any recommendations or does anyone have an engine for sale even?!

make sure the 3.2 manual goes to a good home!
Little chance of that, given its location :-\

A crate of beer and a bag of sausages says the OPs next question is diff related ::)
location is just fine here lad, safer than the uk anyway ;) diff is just fine lad, whats the op about ?

here save me answering every one, 1... car was really cheap, 2 i no enough about engines to no its not a coil pack, not a scuttle issue, 3 i can pick up omegas for 300 - 700 euro, just wanted opinions on the best engine, 3.2 the best one, most economical, thats all you gotta say, thanks anyway.

OP = Original Poster :y

The two most commonly asked questions that come from NI are either about LSDs or tuning.

As for the misfire, knock yourself out trying to sort it without paying attention ::) There isn't a V6 Omega engine that hasn't had misfires caused by either oil or water in the plug wells, resulting in coil pack failure, and there's nothing that Daz doesn't know about these engines.

But if you know best...

Motorsport and all things related are a national sport/way of life in the emerald isle. ;) :)
Lots of people watch tarmac rallying on public roads, and then want to have a go at driving in a similar fashion.
A healthy disregard for rules/regs and all that H&S bollix is a common mindset also. :)

As for the original question. Most economical optons are to convert your 3.2 to LPG,assuming its available locally to you,or have a diesel engine.Converting a petrol car to diesel isn't realistic in my opinion.Easier and cheaper to sell yours and buy a diesel to be honest. :y

Yep. Came across a load of road closures for a rally when I was over there blatting around in the Westfield a fortnight ago. ;D

Good advice on getting back on track from the marshal, when I asked him about a diversion, though. "Oh, well, I don't know, but if you ended up out here you were certainly lost anyway". ;D

The usual one is, "well now,I wouldn't be starting from here if I wanted to get to there". ::) ;D

A guy who has toured with us kit car types has a series 1 Lotus 7 with a Coventry Climax engine. 1098CC and revs like an angry wasp. :-*

Actually, when you think of all the gutless pushrod engines that were the norm when it was designed, it was well ahead of its' time.

I am old enough to remember the police using Hillman Imps  :o and IIRC they were a little temperamental to start,   :-\ when warm not the sort of car you need when chasing crims  :o ;D ;D
