I have just installed windows 7  and Email just comes up with ' mail client not properly installed' and the screen in constantly flickering.

Win 7 doesn't have its own email client, cant remember whether Vista did.

If you have MS Office you can use its full Outlook app, or you can use Microsoft Live or what ever its called these days.

Personally I couldn't get on with MS Live, so I use Thunderbird which is free from Mozilla, which is about as good as it gets and the layout is very similar to the old Windows stand alone Outlook Express that we use to get with the older Windows OS.

Yea, good luck with Live, far too messy for me, still think you should download and install Thunderbird and give it a play.  :y

Install the proper hardware drivers for your video card, and also ensure you install the proper drivers for all your other hardware (sound, chipset, lan, etc) rather than using the defaults that come with Win 7

I would go back to Vista
I wouldn't, 7 is a vast improvement.
